What is the Cardiac Counselling Clinic?
The Cardiac Counselling Clinic provides psychological and behavioural support to people who have had an acute cardiac event, and their families. The support provided through the clinic is particularly relevant for those experiencing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, or the cardiac blues, as well as those struggling with lifestyle change. Counselling is provided by telehealth and is available Australia-wide.
Everything we do in the Cardiac Wellbeing Program is evidence-based, drawing on the Centre’s own world-leading research and that of other experts in cardiac-related psychological and behavioural support.

Important Update About the Future of the Cardiac Counselling Clinic
Due to funding challenges, we are reducing the operations of the ACHH. However, we are pleased to tell you that we have taken necessary steps to ensure the continuation of the Cardiac Counselling Clinic.
In July 2025, the Cardiac Counselling Clinic will transition to new management under NeuroCentrix and will be known as the Cardiac Psychology Clinic. The NeuroCentrix Group is a dedicated evidence-based, assessment, treatment and research organization. The move to NeuroCentrix will see clients able to access to a range of mental health treatments which have the potential to lead to better outcomes.
While this marks the end of an important chapter for us, we want to reassure you that clients in our Clinic will continue to receive expert, evidence-based care. Several of our psychologists will transition to NeuroCentrix and continue to see clients for cardiac-related mental health concerns. We are confident that the team at NeuroCentrix will carry forward the same level of dedication and care that you have come to expect. Until 1 July 2025, our Clinic will still be accepting new clients as per usual.
As of 1st July 2025, referrals to the Cardiac Psychology Clinic can be sent to:
