Dr Barbara Murphy

Dr Barbara Murphy

Dr Barbara Murphy is an Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Health, Deakin University; Honorary Senior Fellow in the Department of Psychology, University of Melbourne; and Conjoint Senior Lecturer in Department of Behavioural Medicine, University of Newcastle. She was Director of Research at the Heart Research Centre and Deputy Director of the Australian Centre for Heart Health.

As Business Manager there is a constant flow of day-to-day business to keep track of. I manage our personnel and facility needs, coordinate the Centre’s face to face and online training programs, social media and resource sales. I’m also involved with grants administration and assisting with payroll and budgeting. 

I enjoy the varied nature of my role and the range of people I interact with including staff, Board members, contractors, health professionals and donors.

I am the ACHH’s Fundraising Co-ordinator, having joined the team as the Heart Research Centre (HRC) in 2008. I have always been interested in public relations and marketing. As the Fundraising Co-ordinator, there is a lot to do. I manage the Centre's donor database, donation and regular giving programs. I help develop and implement the Centre’s fundraising and marketing strategies.
