Ephrem Fernandez is Professor of Clinical Health Psychology at the University of Texas at San Antonio, a frequent visiting scholar at the University of California Berkeley, and Director of an Emotion & Sensation Research Lab, as well as being an Honorary Professorial Fellow at the Australian Centre for Heart Health. He is also an Honorary Professorial Fellow at James Cook University.  He is an internationally-renowned scholar and clinician in the field of emotions with a particular focus on the psychopathology, assessment, and treatment of anger with 30 years of experience and publications including “Treatments for Anger in Specific Populations” published by Oxford University Press (2013), a critique of the state-of-the-science in anger assessment, a review of anger-related disorders in DSM, a theoretical account of anger in interpersonal relationships, and multiple meta-analyses of cognitive-behavioural treatments.  His teaching at various academic institutions spans health/medical psychology and clinical psychology with special attention to psychocardiology, psychotherapy, and the assessment and diagnosis of maladaptive anger.  Professor Fernandez maintains an AHPRA-registered practice in psychology in Australia to facilitate his collaboration with the Centre and other scholars and clinicians.
